Post about Murmur. Get your money back.
Last updated October 31, 2026
Bought Murmur? Post about it. When one post reaches the numbers below, I refund half of what you paid, then all of it. You keep your license. Say what you actually think: critical posts count the same.
How much, and where
| One post on | Half back | All back |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shortsviews | 10,000 | 25,000 |
| X, Threads, LinkedInviews or impressions | 20,000 | 50,000 |
| YouTube video, 2 minutes or longerviews | 1,000 | 5,000 |
| Anywhere with a clickable linkBluesky, Mastodon, a newsletter, X, a YouTube description: visitors through your own link | 50 | 200 |
| A written reviewyour blog, Medium, Substack or dev.to | up 30 daysand follows the rules | 200visitors via its link |
Paid $19? That's $9.50 back, then the other $9.50. Bought with a discount or at the launch price, you get the same share of what you paid.
Your own link is below. Put your handle where it says YOURNAME. I count the visits on my side, so this path needs no screenshot.

X, Threads and LinkedIn count a view every time a post scrolls past, so their numbers are higher. Bluesky and Mastodon don't show views, so use the link there.
How to claim
- Post from your own account, showing Murmur running on your Mac. A screen recording or screenshot of your own use is perfect. Put saymurmur.app in the post or on screen so people can find it.
- Start the post with #ad and say Murmur refunds you for posting (see below).
- When one post passes a number, email [email protected] from the address you bought with. Include the post link and a screenshot of the post's analytics or insights page, not just the public counter. The button above fills in the email for you.
I check every claim myself and reply within 3 business days. The refund goes back to your card through Polar, the store Murmur sells through. Your bank may take 5 to 10 days to show it.
Say it's an ad
You're getting money back for posting, so the people who see it should know. Start the post with something like:
#ad Murmur refunds buyers who post about it. Here's what I actually think:
In a video, put it on screen in the first few seconds or say it out loud, and add it to the caption too. If the platform has a paid-partnership or branded-content setting, turn it on as well. A tag, a "thanks", a note in your bio or a comment isn't enough on its own.
The rules
- Who: anyone who paid for Murmur. One payout per order and one per person. Claim half first and the rest later if your post keeps going.
- How much: a share of what you actually paid. Free licenses and AppSumo codes have nothing to refund, so they aren't eligible.
- When: post within 60 days of buying, and claim within 90 days of buying. Bought before November 2, 2026? Your 60 and 90 days start that day.
- One post, on its own: post as often as you like, but a single post on a single platform has to reach the number. Views from different posts or platforms don't add up.
- Honest: you don't have to be positive. I pay for reach, not praise.
- Real: your own footage and screenshots, from your own account that's at least 30 days old. No reposts, no AI-generated clips.
- No spam. Reddit, Hacker News, Product Hunt, Discord, Slack or Facebook groups and forums don't count, so please don't post about Murmur there for this. Also out: posting anywhere self-promotion isn't allowed, giveaways, engagement pods, replying under other people's posts, mass DMs, and bought, botted or boosted views (including a platform's "promote" button).
- Written reviews: at least 300 words in your own words with your own screenshots, on a site or profile that had other posts before you bought Murmur. If your blog lets you, mark the link to Murmur
rel="sponsored". Medium already does it for you. - Keep it up for 60 days after the refund lands.
- Your license stays active. This is separate from the 7-day refund, which deactivates the license and covers only what you haven't been refunded already.
- Your post stays yours. I may share it with credit unless you ask me not to, and I'll ask before using it in an ad.
- Checks and changes: I check every claim by hand, and if I say no, I'll tell you why. I may change or end this program. Claims already sent are honored, and posts published before a change get 30 days to claim under the old rules.
Questions
Do I have to say good things?
No. Say what you actually think. Critical posts count the same, and I'd rather hear what's wrong.
Why do I have to say it's an ad?
Because you're getting money back for posting, and the people watching should know. US and UK advertising rules both expect it. "#ad" at the start of the post covers it.
Can I post on Reddit?
No, and please don't. Reddit, Hacker News, Product Hunt, Discord, Slack and Facebook groups, and forums don't count. Communities are for conversations, not for earning refunds. Your own feed or channel is the place.
Can I add up views from a few posts?
No. One post has to get there by itself. Post as often as you like, and claim on the one that does.
My post passed the next number after I claimed half.
Email again with the new number and I'll refund the rest, as long as you're within 90 days of buying.
I bought with a discount code or at the launch price.
You get the same share of what you paid: half, then all of it.
Will Murmur stop working after the refund?
No. You keep your license, your 3 Macs and free updates for version 1.
What should the screenshot show?
The post's own analytics or insights page, with the view count and the date it was posted. Not just the public number under the video. For the visitors link, no screenshot is needed.
Do I need a big following?
No. A useful short video can reach 10,000 views from a small account, and 50 visitors through your link is within reach of a good post anywhere.
I haven't bought Murmur yet.
Try it first: your first 2,000 words are free, no account. If you buy and post, this applies to you too.
